Deep within the jungles of Yucatan, Chichen Itza is one of the largest and best preserved archeological sites in Mexico, are the ruins exhibiting a strange combination of Mayan and Toltec influences. Isla Mujeres also known as the Women Island about eight miles northeast of Cancun was considered to be sacred by the Mayans leaving behind traces of this grand civilization all over the island. Xcaret is a kind of Mexican Disneyland, in the backdrop of real caves, real animals and real performers-no automated props here. Deep inside the jungle on the coast, they have a beautiful cove swimming area where you can swim with the dolphins or go on snorkel/scuba trips. A close competitor of its neighbor Xcaret, Xel Ho Ecopark is an absolute “must see”. Not as proficient in terms of attractions of an amusement park, but it is gorgeous as a natural park and bathing in such an environment can’t get better. Tulum offers a special experience of bathing by the ruins, even the rough sea cost does not curb the tourists from taking a dip. If tired of the beautiful beaches another option would be to take a boat trip on the inland lagoon, Nichupte Lagoon or canoe if you like paddling for a few hours.
