Visiting The Santa Claus Museum In Indiana

The Santa Claus Museum is located in Santa Claus, Indiana. The museum has exhibits related to the history of the town of Santa Claus. Visitors can learn about the origin of the town’s name, the history of Holiday World, and the uniqueness of the town’s post office. The museum is conveniently located in the Kringle Shopping Center, where the town’s famous post office is also located.

The Santa Claus Museum is a rather small museum with only two rooms, but admission is free. It is one of the few things to do in the town of Santa Claus besides the post office and Holiday World. Thus it is easily one of the must see things in Santa Claus despite not being all that big of an attraction.

The Santa Claus Museum can be a fun place for little kids who are still interested in the magic of Santa. Older kids might not be as interested in the museum, especially considering the more exciting Holiday World Amusement Park is the main attraction in Santa Claus, Indiana.

The museum honors the history of the town of Santa Claus, Indiana, with exhibits that explain how the town became known as Santa Claus and began to really grow as the post office began to answer letters it received from children writing to Santa. The exhibits include various artifacts related to the town’s history. This includes items related to the Santa Claus Candy Castle, which was the town’s first attraction when it was opened in 1935.

The museum also honors the Koch family and their role in turning the town of Santa Claus into a major tourist attraction in the state of Indiana. The items related to the Santa Claus Land (now called Holiday World) help to illustrate their key contributions to the town of Santa Claus.

The Santa Claus Museum is also where Santa’s Elves work on writing letters to children from Santa Claus. This is a program that dates back to 1914 and continues to mail out free letters to those that request them before December 21. Some of the letters they have received over the years are on display in the museum.
