Arizona Attractions

Arizona is primarily well-known for it’s weather. It is an attractive alternative to colder climates, or areas with high frequencies of natural disasters. However, Arizona has much more to offer than given credit for, and it really saddens me to think about how many people come to stay in the Phoenix metro area, but never bother to venture anywhere else.

The majority of Arizona is a desert climate, yes, but it also has a bit of every other ecosystem throughout the state. There are areas where snow falls generously, where rain pours consistently throughout the year and lush green forests are plentiful. National parks and monuments are scattered everywhere, and there are tons of natural wonders that many have traveled half way around the world to see.

Due to it’s location on the Earth’s tectonic plates, the lands of Arizona have been shifted and transformed by things like volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, ancient floods, and ice storms. Everyone knows about the bigger parks, like The Grand Canyon, but that is really just the tip of the iceberg. I’ve been living here in Arizona my entire life (almost 25 years now), but I didn’t start becoming aware of the many wonders it has until about 2 years ago, when I suddenly became friends with a person who had a passion for a things nature. I was completely shocked to discover things like Kartchner Caverns, Lava River Cave, and was blown away when we went to see authentic dinosaur tracks and fossils that had been embedded into ancient molten rock. I was so amazed by everything that I had seen in the last couple of years, that I felt the need to compile a list of them, complete with pictures and descriptions, to share with everyone else.

If you are in Arizona right now, or you plan to visit in the future, please consider reading this article that I have taken so much time to write. There are so many beautiful places to see in this great state, away from the crowds and the dirty city atmosphere. These are the true Arizona attractions that nobody should ever miss out on. Enjoy!
