Pattaya Walking Street

While Bangkok is the most well know city in Thailand, there is a smaller and still popular destination just 165 kilometers from Bangkok known as Pattaya. If you are familiar with Thailand you will likely recognize the city as the capital of sin, not just in Thailand, but perhaps in all of SE Asia.

Even though it is known as sin city, Pattaya Thailand also offers many other activities such as diving, shopping, bungee jumping and you can even learn to fly an airplane here! There really is a diversity of activities available and you will find tourists from all walks of life and countries coming to Pattaya for fun and entertainment.

One of the most popular spots in Pattaya for fun and entertainment is Walking Street. No visit to Pattaya is complete without a night strolling up and down this famous (or infamous) street. You will be treated to an amazing and exciting night of entertainment and even debauchery if that’s what you are looking for.

In Thai the word for street is “soi” and Pattaya’s Walking Street is quite likely the best known soi in all of Thailand. It is a major nightlife destination that explodes into merriment after the sun goes down with throngs of tourists and locals alike looking for some fun and entertainment. Even though the soi is just 1000 meters long you can find hundreds of bars, disco’s, restaurants, go-go bars and nightclubs along its length. But there’s much more than just the physical trappings of Walking Street.

The moment you get within earshot of Walking Street you will begin to feel the party-like vibe in the air. Soon you begin to see the glow of neon lights and as your vision fills with the sights of Walking Street you feel as if you have been transported to a psychedelic wonder world of colors, sounds and experiences. The buzz of the crowds will have you feeling the excitement in the air and your senses will be filled with sights, sounds and even smells from the street vendors cooking for the hungry crowds.

Walking Street is the perfect place for something to eat and you will be astounded at the variety of choices, from street cart food like pad thai and roti to delicious sit down restaurants serving foods from every corner of the world. And once that appetite is sated you can head out for some shopping along the soi at the many souvenir shops and gift kiosks. And for those who enjoy more excitement you can satisfy your party cravings with a myriad of bars, a cabaret show, dancing until dawn as well as other tempting carnal pursuits.

In the end, no one will come away from Pattaya disappointed or unchanged. If you are one who enjoys nightlife and parties then Pattaya Thailand is certainly your destination.
