Lately Ukraine became a well-known tourist attraction for many Western travelers, partly because you do not need to open visa if you live in EU countries or in US or Canada. This simplifies your entrance to our country. Or you may be attracted by Ukrainian women who are very beautiful and sometimes, if you are lucky enough, kind and meek. Other points of interest are Ukrainian architectural and historical wonders like Pechersk Lavra, Sofiysky Cathedral, or House of Chimeras, and, of course, gracious landscapes and forests, picturesque parks and slopes, terrific views that great poets and writes sang about in their poems and novels.

The first popular city of Ukraine is its capital, Kiev, or Kyiv (this spelling refers to Ukrainian pronunciation). You may be surprised by poor quality of average Kiev hotels at your first visit, and require advice from friends or other travelers as to where to stay in Kiev. Of course, if you have deep pockets and are not frugal about your accommodation expenditures, you may consider one of the newly opened Kiev hotels, Hyatt Hotel or Intercontinental Hotel Kiev, the former being of more modern style while the latter is of classic elegant décor. Both of them are located next to each other, in the vicinity of Mykhailivsky Golden-Domed Cathedral, Sofiysky Cathedral and Andriivska Church. Other top-notch accommodation units include Premiere Palace Hotel and Opera Hotel. All of them are five-star hotels.

Some people prefer a four-star Radisson SAS that is situated near Golden Gates. Budget favorites include Hotel Rus, President Hotel and Hotel Dnipro. They are perfect for business meetings and have spacious conferenc e halls and meeting rooms.

Private accommodation is very popular among tourists lately. You may select one of the larger boutique hotels like Riviera or Podol Plaza hotels, or Sunflower or Gintama. I hope your stay in Kiev will be pleasant.
